James Lewis Yelton, 82 of Bakersville, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at his home. He was the son of the late Clyde and Ola Mae Colbert Yelton. J.L. loved to hunt and fish  and was known as a honest and hard worker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers: Hubert, Hansel, Lee, Ballard, Kenneth and Dennis Yelton.

Survivors include a daughter, Alma Renee Yelton of Bakersville; brothers: Eugene Farrell Yelton of Baltimore, MD, Lloyd Yelton of Roan Mtn, TN, Darrell Wayne Yelton of Bakersville and Dale Yelton of Burnsville.

A memorial service may be held at a later date.
