James F. Ricker, age 65 of Bakersville , NC passed away January 27, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center . A native of Washington County , TN he was a Vietnam Veteran serving 2 tours. He was a retired truck driver.

He was a loving husband, a wonderful dad, and a friend to anyone who wanted his friendship. He was full of humor and could bring a smile in the worst situations. He loved life, and all his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Debbie Ricker, three sons; Justin Ricker, of Bakersville, NC, David and Jason Ricker, of Boone, NC, two granddaughters; Brittney, and Sidney Ricker, of Boone, NC, three grandsons; Blake, Ben, and Brett Ricker, of Boone, NC, one adopted grandson, Eli Brown, two sisters; Stephanie Greene and fiancé Doug Reedy, of Chucky, TN, Dale Sauceda, of Perkins, MO, three brothers; Haskell Greene, and wife Lisa, of Chucky, TN, Keith Greene, and wife Wendy, of Chucky, TN, and Robert Ricker, of Limestone, TN, and a special cousin, Sidney Greene, of Limestone, TN. James had an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special niece, Georgia Ann Ricker, of Jonesboro, TN, two sisters in law; Linda Leopold Ricker, of Jonesboro, TN, and Sue Burleson, of Bakersville, NC, four brothers in law; William Edwards, of Angeles City, Philippines, Junior, Gary, and David Edwards, all of Bakersville, NC.

He was preceded in death by; his mother, Martha Greene, his adoptive parents; James and Joann Greene, and three brothers; Richie Greene, Billy, and Kenny Ricker.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Ronnie Gouge and David Ricker officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:00am at Fork Mountain Cemetery . Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by Sgt E.L. Randolph Chapter #57 DAV.
