James Arthur Ollis, age 62 of Hudson, NC formerly of Bakersville, NC passed away February 8, 2016. He was a son of the late Earnest and Cora Pittman Ollis and a native of Mitchell County, NC. He was previously employed with Woody Lumber Company in Bakersville, NC. He enjoyed the mountains, hunting, fishing, riding his four wheeler, and digging ginseng.

Survivors include: two brothers; Lee Roy Ollis (Margaret), of Spruce Pine, NC, and Sammie Ollis (Janet), of Hudson, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Buchanan, and six brothers; Robert, Ed, Ted, Earl, Karl, and Willie Ollis.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Randy Wise and Roger Yelton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the service time. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.
