James Roger Dellinger, 86 of Bakersville, NC passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 in the Smoky Ridge Health and Rehab in Burnsville, NC. He was the son of the late Virgil and Lura Gregg Dellinger and he was also preceded in death by 4 sisters and 6 brothers.

James was of the Baptist Faith and he loved music. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from the NC Employment Security Commission.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Forbes Dellinger; two sons: Jaime Lee Dellinger and wife Traci of Sylva, NC and Randy William Dellinger and wife Shirley of Hawaii; one sister, Grace Buchanan of Hickory; two brothers: Herbert Dellinger of Bassett, VA and Ray Dellinger of Bakersville; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held in the Green Young Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Home Care of the Blue Ridge, 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
