James Edward "Ed" Burleson, age 67 of Dale Hill Rd, Bakersville, NC passed away September 22, 2015 at his home. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Frank Norman and Ernestine Burleson.

Ed was of the Baptist faith and his hobbies included: fishing, hunting, trapping, and ginseng digging. He loved to be outdoors.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his sister, Glenda Nell Burleson.

Survivors include: three brothers; Fred Burleson, (Sherry), of Hickory, NC, Ted Burleson, (Diane), of Spruce Pine, NC, and Tony Burleson, (Vicki), of Bakersville, NC, two sisters; Virginia Capps, (Ralph), and Deborah Jarrett, (Mike), all of Bakersville, NC, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews, a special niece, Christie Vance, (Karl), of Newland, NC, and a special friend and neighbor, Marshall Banks.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
