Jackie Merle Holtzclaw of Spruce Pine, NC passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville, NC. He was the son of the late Edd and Ruth Stafford Holtzclaw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie Lynn Hieber and two sisters, Mary Dover and Sherry Holtzclaw.

Jackie was a master auto mechanic who could fix anything and enjoyed restoring antiques and building muscle cars. He loved the outdoors. He also loved God and reading his bible and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He had many friends whom he loved and who loved him.

Survivors include 3 sons: Jackie Holtzclaw, Eddie Holtzclaw and Jackie Ledford; his daughter, Carmen Lovie; sisters, Elizabeth Biddix and Margaret Bess; brother, James Holtzclaw; and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his special friend and pastor, Dr. Scott Dotson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Dr. Scott Dotson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
