Dateline: Bakersville, NC

Jack Yelton, age 84 of Whitson Branch Rd., went home to be with the Lord August 28, 2021. He was a son of the late George and Minnie Yelton and retired as a Craftsman. He enjoyed working puzzles, fishing, and truly loved his family.

Survivors include: his children; Doug Yelton (Lynn), Wade Yelton (Renita), Thelma Stafford (Danny), one brother; Wade Yelton (Pearl), sisters; Rosie Chandler, Phoebe Robinson, Marie Bryant, and Sue Ponder (Devoe), grandchildren; Jessica Roberts (Clayton), Austin Yelton (Alexandria), Autumn Ellis, Patrick Deal, Lucas and Matthew Stafford, Patrick Grindstaff (Sarah), great grandchildren; Addyson and Ansley Roberts, Avram and Mercy Yelton, Zoey and Sawyer Ellis, Emma Deal, Skyler and Hayden Grindstaff.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his wife; Helen Banks Yelton, one brother: E L Yelton, sisters; Irene Byrd, Faye Byrd, Ruby Ray, and Viola McIntosh.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 4:00PM at Garland Cemetery (Bad Creek Rd), with Clyde Metcalf and Bobby Sprinkle officiating.
