Dateline: Bakersville, NC

Jack Edward Staton, age 87, of Cane Creek Rd went home to be with the Lord, August 31, 2020. He was the son of the late Marsh and Dessie Pittman Staton and a native of Mitchell County, NC. He was a Veteran of The United States Army serving in the Korean War, and retired as a self employed carpenter/ contractor.

He was a deacon and life long member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved gardening and deeply loved his family and friends. He is now with Jesus our mighty Lord and Savior, who is our power and strength.

Survivors include; one daughter; Cathy Chapman (Mike), of Gray, TN, one son; Dale Staton (Janet), of Bakersville, NC, two sisters; Emma Lee Buchanan, and Sue Gouge, both of Bakersville, NC, two grandchildren; Kimberly Revis and Sam Staton, and two great grandchildren; Jack and Levi Revis.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by: his wife; Carolyn Duncan Staton, and one son; Van Staton.

A private funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2020 with William Ellis and Vernon Buchanan officiating. Entombment will follow at Bear Creek Mausoleum.
