Jack T. Grindstaff age 86 of Bakersville , NC passed away July 21, 2016 . He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Jessie and Rosa Young Grindstaff. He was retired from Henredon Furniture where he was an Electrician. He was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church and former member of Ledger Fire Dept. Jack was a friend to all, loving and kind, he never met a stranger.

Survivors include: one son; David Grindstaff ( Robin), of Spruce Pine, NC, a daughter in law; Demona Grindstaff, of Marion, NC, one sister; Azalene Robinson, of Marion, NC, three grandchildren; Kandace Whisnant, of Morganton, NC, Haley Lee, of Newland, NC, and Chad Grindstaff, of Boiling Springs, NC, three great grandchildren; Dakota Duckworth, Cassidy Lee and Cassen Lee.

He was preceded in death by: his wife; Phyllis Duncan Grindstaff, one son; Mike Grindstaff, six brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 3:00PM in Bear Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Darrin Waldroup, Rev. Bruce Cannon, and Rev. Chris Rathbone officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery .
