Irene Buchanan Henderson passed away October 24 ^th at the Hospice House in Bristol , TN. Born June 28 ^th , 1920 , she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Margaret Miller Buchanan.  Irene's dedication to serving others, especially children, epitomized the family motto "Virtue alone is nobility". Irene was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Henderson, six sisters, two brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Surviving are her siblings Albert Buchanan (Alma), Gertrude Frye, Ratha Buchanan (Lois), Jean Church; her children B. Terry Henderson (Peggy), Judy Reed (Bill), Faye Gold (Duane), Mitzi Henderson (David), 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 29, 5:30-7:00pm ,  in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 211 Mayflower Road , Johnson City , TN. Funeral services will follow at 7:00pm .

Graveside services will be Friday, Oct. 30 ^th , Monte Vista Cemetery, 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wellmont Hospice House, 1 Medical Park Blvd , Bristol , TN , 37620 . Henline - Hughes Funeral Home Bakersville, NC is assisting the family
