Hattie B. Buchanan, age 79 of Hamburg Rd., Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord, July 18, 2019. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Ira and Grace Hise Burleson. She was previously employed with Ellen Knitting Mills in Quality Control. She was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church. Hattie loved working with children, and flower arrangements. She also enjoyed accompanying her husband in his ministry visiting people.

Survivors include: her husband; Reverend Vernon Buchanan, of the home, two sons; Allen (Sherri) and Christopher Buchanan, both of Bakersville, NC, one sister; Mary Upton, of Charlotte, NC, and one brother; Phillip Burleson, of Michigan.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by: sisters; Anna Lee Cruise, Nina Buchanan, Emma Gibbs, and Faye Ledford, brothers; Lewis, Harold, and Jerry Burleson, and brother in law; Bill Cruise.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 6:00PM in Bear Creek Baptist Church with Bruce Cannon and Larry Greene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
