Glen Renfro, age 89 of Pigeon Roost Rd, Green Mountain, NC went home to be with the Lord November 15, 2017 . A native of Mitchell County, NC he was a son of the late Lester and Myrtle Miller Renfro. He was retired from Henredon Furniture as a Machine Operator and was a Veteran of The United States Army. Glen attended Lower Pigeon Roost Freewill Baptist Church . He enjoyed gardening and his grandchildren were very special to him.

Survivors include: his wife Wanda Byrd Renfro, of the home, his daughter Sharon Thomas (Danny), of Spruce Pine, NC, his son Jerry Renfro (Tammie), of Green Mountain, NC, and his sisters Nora Metcalf, of Green Mountain, NC, and Ora Mae Bailey, of Hickory, NC, three grandchildren; Heather Goforth, Heath Renfro, and Hudson Renfro.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by brothers; R.C., Burnie, Ray, and Lloyd Renfro, and his sister Grace Robinson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at 8:00PM in Lower Pigeon Roost Freewill Baptist Church with Marvin Miller and Junior Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00PM at Tipton Griffith Cemetery ( Griffith Rd ), with SGT EL Randolph Chapter 57 DAV conducting military honors.
