Geneva Stilwell Brewer, age 81, of Bakersville , NC passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at her home. A native of West Virginia , she was the daughter of the late Tuskco and Sadie Janey Stilwell. Geneva was a member of the Bakersville Baptist Church , Order of the Easter Star, former Business Manager for the Rhodendron Festival and retired office manager of Bassett Walker, Inc. She was a devoted wife, and "Maw" to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Brewer, daughter, Janine Brewer, 5 sisters and one brother.

Survivors include her son, Wes Brewer and wife Donna of Bakersville; sisters: Betty Thompson of Covington , LA and Barbara Saupp of Falls Church , VA; brothers: Harlan Stilwell of Falls Church and James Stilwell of Covington ; grandchildren: Ashley Adkinson, Ali Hughes and Andrew Brewer; great grandchildren: Lathan Adkinson, Emily and Anthony Hughes, and Grayson Singleton.

Funeral services will be held 7:30 pm Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Dean Honeycutt and Jeff Brewer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday in the Bakersville Memorial Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge , 236 Hospital Dr , Spruce Pine , NC 28777 .
