Florence Forbes Dowell, age 75 of Mulberry Lane, Bakersville, NC passed away July 27, 2016. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Earl and Etta Hoilman Forbes. She was retired from Ethan Allen Furniture Company in Spruce Pine, NC.

Survivors include: one son; Donald Dowell (Lee Etta), of Green Mountain, NC, two sisters; Mary Jane Dellinger (Roger), and Judy Honeycutt, all of Bakersville, NC. three brothers; Ralph Forbes, Earl Forbes Jr (Ann), and Carrol Forbes (Deb), all of Bakersville, NC, one grandson; Jeremiah Dowell (special friend Autumn Sparks), also of Bakersville, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Spencer Dowell.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2:00PM at Russ Memorial Cemetery.
