Faye McKinney Slagle, 96, of the Red Hill Community, Bakersville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Jess and Martha Ledford McKinney. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Slagle; siblings: Carrie Pitman, Ruby Edwards, Ruth Wise, Bertie Banner, Margie Futrell, twin brother, Ray McKinney and Robert McKinney.

Faye was a hard worker, and she loved to work in her garden and flowers and she was a people person best known for her service at Helen's Drive-in and Restaurant in Bakersville where she worked for 44 years. Everyone knew and loved her.

Surviving are her son, Steven Slagle of Bakersville and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Wise and Rev. Mike Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Green Young Cemetery.
