Farrell Earl Ollis, age 82, of Buladean Community, Bakersville , NC went home to be with the Lord February 21, 2017 at Johnson City Medical Center .

He was the son of the late Earl and Frances Ollis. Farrell was a member and Sunday School Superintendent of Spring Creek Baptist Church .

He worked for Westinghouse as a steam service mechanic, Feldspar Trucking, Roan Industries and, was a Veteran of The United States Air Force. He belonged to the Gideon's International.

Farrell is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ethel Hughes Ollis, one son, Alvin Dean Ollis, wife Cynthia Ollis, two grandsons, Isaac, (Brittany), and Isaiah, one granddaughter, Allison, (David), one great grandson, Thatcher Roan Ollis, one sister, Faye Buchanan, (Charles), and a loving niece and two nephews, and two special pet canines, Elijah and BoJangles.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 at 7:00PM in Spring Creek Baptist Church (Hwy 226), with Rev. Robert McCurry and Rev. Brandon Young officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00PM at Hughes Cemetery ( Blevins Branch Rd ).
