Eugene Yelton, age 88, Of Finksburg, Maryland passed away on June 12, 2024. A native of Bakersville, NC he was one of eleven children born to John and Ola Mae Colbert Yelton.

Eugene moved to Maryland when he was in his teens where he worked for a tree service company for years before starting his own tree service business that went on to be very successful for over 50 years. Eugene was very adventurous and loved to go hunting and fishing and traveling all over the country include Alaska. He was a family man with strong faith and he served as a deacon in the Apostolic Assembly of our Lord and Savior Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Garland Yelton who passed away in 2021; his brothers: Lee, Dennis, Ansel, J.L., Hubert, Ballard, and Kenneth.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Donna Walter and husband David; three brothers, Dale Yelton, Darrell Yelton and Lloyd Yelton; granddaughter Sarah, and great grandchildren, Landon, Cady, Bella, Caly, and Quinn; also several nieces and nephews.

Eugene will be buried in the Fork Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
