Eugene Tommie Woody, age 90 of Johnson Hollow Rd, Marion , NC went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2017 . A native of Yancey County , NC he was a son of the late Grady and Dora Boone Woody. He was a member of Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church . He was a Master Mason and a member of Joppa Lodge 401 AF&AM in Old Fort, NC. He was a Veteran of The United States Navy and retired from Drexel Furniture Company after many years of service.

Survivors include: one grandson; Tommy E. Woody and wife Vickie Conner of Pleasant Gardens , NC , and three great grandchildren; Dillon Levi Woody, Gavin Lee Woody, and Amber Khristine Boone.

He was preceded in death by: his wife; Blanche Callahan Woody, two sisters; Vera Lee Blackwell and Grace Woody, one son; Steve Allen Woody, three infants; Sandra, Eugene Jr., and Dale, and one great grandson; Hunter Lee Woody.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 3:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Steve Hawkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Woody Cemetery ( Double Island Rd ), with military graveside honors conducted by Sgt. EL Randolph Chapter 57 DAV.
