Etta Whitson Buchanan, age 87, of Snow Hill Rd, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord, November 13, 2019. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Sam and Nervie Bowman Whitson.

She was retired from Baxter Travenol Laboratories. She was a member of Beans Creek Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, making quilts, and working in her flowers.

Survivors include: four sons; Bobby Buchanan (Anita), of Bakersville, NC, Dean Buchanan (Mary), of Tipton Hill, NC, Greg Buchanan and Mark Buchanan, both of Bakersville, NC, one sister; Ruth Ford, of West Palm Beach, Florida, two grandchildren, six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by: her husband; Robert Jack Buchanan, one son; Joe Buchanan, four sisters, three brothers, and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, 2019 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Roy Whitson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:00PM at Whitson Garland Cemetery (Beans Creek Rd).
