Ethel Street Ollis age 81, of Hughes Rd, Bakersville, NC ( The Buladean Community) went home to be with the Lord December 26, 2023. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Lewis and Nell McNeil Street. She was a graduate of Tipton Hill High School and a member of Odoms Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Ethel enjoyed visiting the Mitchell County Senior Center, watching game shows, camping, family get togethers, and visiting her out of town family. She loved her children and was loved by all that knew her.

Survivors include: five children; Bobby Ollis (Diane), of Hartsville, SC, Debra Decola (Bobby), of Burnsville, NC, Danny Ollis (Kristie), of Bakersville, NC, Steve Ollis (Angie), of Bakersville, NC, Greg Ollis (Sandi), of Bakersville, NC, one sister Virginia Burleson, of Spruce Pine, NC, grandchildren: Chase, Katie, Nick, Jeff (Lorie), Travis, great grandchildren: Rebecca, Kirra, Alyssa, Sophia, Kane, Fancy, Raylan, and  Everleigh and special friends Sherry and John Kirk.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Willie Ollis, sisters; Viola Street, Geneva Honeycutt, Nola Crisp, and Norma Cook, one brother Gary Street, and grandson Seth Anders.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 31, 2023 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Arrowood and Reverend Bob Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Melton Cemetery.
