Elmer Yelton, age 72, of Marion , NC passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at his home. He was the son of the late Arnold and Sally Buchanan Yelton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Billie Cook and brother, Junior Yelton.

Elmer is survived by his wife, Mary B. Yelton of the home; daughters: April Yelton of Marion and Susan Yelton of Baltimore, MD; son, Benjamin Lee Yelton and wife Heather  of Marion; sister, Betty Hirsch and husband Vince of Bakersville; brother, Paul Yelton and wife Judy of Galax, VA; three grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Tammy Cook; his two cats, Fudd and Midnight.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 28, 2018 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Mike Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Hobson Cemetery on Cook Town Road in Bakersville.
