Dateline: Spruce Pine, NC

Ella Mae Pendley Koerner, age 55 of McHone Rd, Spruce Pine, NC passed away June 30, 2017 at her home. She was a native of Hickory, NC and a daughter of the late Paul Edgar Pendley. She was previously employed as a cashier with Food Lion.  She was a member of Sullins Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her mother; Mary Pendley, of Taylorsville, one daughter; Crystal Tallent, of Morganton, one son; Dustin McKinney, of Flat Rock, two sisters; Linda Miller, of Lenoir, and Janet Koopman, (Steve), of Spruce Pine, two brothers; Jerry Pendley, (Greta), of Spruce Pine, NC, and Benjamin Pendley, of Taylorsville, and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death in addition to her father by: one son; Joey McKinney, and one sister; Patricia Pendley.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 3:00PM  in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Billy Ledford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Sullins Branch Cemetery.
