Elizabeth "Betty" Susan Buchanan Garland

Betty Buchanan Garland, age 78 of Kingsport, TN formerly of Bakersville, NC passed away April 4, 2024. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Bruce and Lucille Buchanan.

She was  a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bakersville, NC. She enjoyed spending time in St. Augustine Florida and especially enjoyed taking care of her grandson Jake.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Bruce W. Garland and her step father Ernest Ellis.

Survivors include one daughter Kimberly Neil, of Kingsport, TN three sisters Margaret Baker (Arthur), and Kay Woody, all of Bakersville, NC, and Vicki Lewis (Thom), of North Wilkesboro, NC, five grandchildren Jakob Neil, Whitney, Wendy, Jonathan, and Bradford Garland, and one great grandchild Isaiah Garland.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 12:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Mark McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at 2:00PM at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Johnson City, TN.
