Edward J. Bumgarner, of the Ingalls Community, Spruce Pine, NC passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021 at his home. He was the son of the late Edward and Adelade Burleson Bumgarner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Justice and his son, Kenneth Guinn and daughter Lovella Carpenter. Edward was a member of Yellow Mountain Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Osborne Bumgarner of the home; daughters: Sarah Effler (Bill) of Spruce Pine, Joyce Griffith (Kevin) of Bakersville, Rena Hensley of Newland and Veronica Jordan of Spruce Pine; son, Robert Guinn (Tammy) of Newland; brothers: Johnny Justice and Billy Ray Justice both of Avery County; 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 24, 2021 in the Yellow Mountain Baptist Church with Revs. Jim Shoupe and Ralph Perry officiating.
