Ed William Wilson III, 72, of Bakersville, NC passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his home. He was the son of June Hughes Wilson of Bakersville, and the late Ed William Wilson Jr. Ed was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Bakersville Baptist Church, He was a former employee of Henredon Furniture and the Mitchell Count Sheriffs Department. He also involved in the Rhododendron Festival.

Survivors include, in addition to his mother, his son, Ed William Wilson IV "Will" (Ami Grindstaff) of  Jacksonville, FL; sister, Suellen Wilson Pierce (Danny) of Denver, NC; brothers, David Arthur Wilson (Libby) of Denver, NC and Stephen Andrew Wilson (Cynthia) of Bakersville; grandchild, Zella June Wilson and 2 step grandchildren, Mahala Allison Cantrell and Autumn Cantrell Smith. He was also preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
