Doris Wilcox Welsh, age 72, of Bakersville , NC passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 in the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital . She was the daughter of the late Calvin and Vena Buchanan Wilcox. Doris was a graduate of Bowman High School , former owner/operator of the Mountain View Restaurant in Bakersville, a member of the Mine Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Edith Grindstaff and Lois England; brothers: Sam, Lonnie, Carroll, Clyde and Johnnie Wilcox.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Welsh of their home; sons: George Calvin Welsh and wife Lauren of Midlothian, VA, Michael Welsh of Bakersville and David Aaron Welsh and wife Rebecca of St. Louis, MO; sisters: Pearl Penland and Elizabeth Pate both of Burnsville, NC; grandchildren: Brooke, Aaron, Alex, Kimberly, Samantha, Emilee and Allie; special friend, Casie Wyatt.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the Mine Creek Baptist Church with Revs. Chris Rathbone and Mark McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Grindstaff Cemetery . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be made to the Mine Creek Baptist Church .
