Doris Young Pittman, age 89, of Bakersville, NC passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in the Brian Center Health and Rehab. She was the daughter of the late Raleigh and Ruth Henline Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Guy Hobson and Homer Pittman; her daughters, Marguerite Young and Diane Hughes and husband Roger Hughes; sisters: Shirley Gaddis, Louise McKinney and Rose Rathbone; and a great grandchild, Charis Hobson.

Doris was a member of the Roan Mountain Baptist Church. She also loved her flowers, working at the flower shop, sewing, cooking, and feeding and caring for the "little horses" which belonged to her great niece April.

Survivors include her son in law, Glenn Young of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren: Sherry Hobson of South Carolina, Todd Hughes of Green Mtn and Tommy Hughes of Bakersville, and Ben Young of Salisbury; great grandchildren: Tristen Hughes, Evan Hughes, Laken Hughes, Skylar Hughes, Lane Honeycutt, Landon Hughes, Haven Hughes, Seth Hobson and Kennedy Young.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 28, 2020 in the Green Young Cemetery with Russell McKinney officiating.
