Doris Hill Phillips, age 90, of Bakersville, NC passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 in the Brian Center, Spruce Pine, NC. She was the daughter of the late Doss and Pearl Stevens Garland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Claude Hill and Leonard Phillips; son, Alan Hill; sisters: Elaine Garland and Wanda Sue Garland; brothers: Jay and Elmer Garland. Doris was a member of Cub Creek Baptist Church and she loved her cats.

Survivors include three sisters: Elvia Cranford of Asheville, Carolyn Galloway of Brevard and Ellen Hawley of Georgia; brothers: Lloyd Garland, Howard Garland and Ray Garland all of Bakersville, two grandchildren: Ashley and Aaron Garland and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held on Saturday.
