Doris Elizabeth Livingston Hughes age 89 of Johnson Hollow Rd went home to be with the Lord December 14, 2023.

She was a daughter of the late George and Selma Robinson Livingston and a native of Mitchell County, NC and a member of Silver Chapel Baptist Church.

She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers and cooking for her family.

Survivors include her son Gary Ray Hughes and his long time girlfriend who also was an excellent caregiver for his mother, Reta Bailey, and one sister Iva Grindstaff.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jim Golden Hughes, and brothers Joe and Alvin Livingston.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Mark McKinney officiating. Burial will follow the service at Silver Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
