Dateline Bakersville, NC

Dickie Ray Ledford age 72 of Bakersville, NC passed away January 26, 2024. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Wilma Jean Ledford Ward. He attended Cornerstone Bible Church and was previously employed with Unimin Corporation as a Lab Technician.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his atv. He also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. He loved his family and will be missed by many.

Survivors include two daughters Shawna Hughes (John), of Piney Flats, TN, and Kayla Boyter (Joseph), of Marion, NC, two brothers Charles Ward (Margaret), Rick Ledford (Ellen), all of Bakersville, NC, and his grandson Joshua Carter Hughes.

He was preceded in death in addition to his mother by his wife Sarah Rhonda Ledford.

A private funeral service will be held and burial will be in the Baxter Hobson Cemetery.
