Debora Lynn Barnett, age 60, of Burnsville , went home to be with her Lord unexpectedly on Thursday , December 22, 2016 . She was the daughter of  Ray Gibbs and Edna Nell Ball Hughes and was a life long member, Sunday School Superintendent, and Sunday School Teacher of the Church of God of Prophecy on Meadow Road in Burnsville . Debora was the office manager for Mt. Mitchell State Park and a former employee of the Spruce Pine Hospital and the Celo Health Center .

She is survived by her husband, Wade Barnett of the home; son, Jason M. Barnett of Burnsville ; sisters: Becky Kegley and Mary Martha Blevins both of Burnsville ; brothers: J.R. Hughes of Spruce Pine, Russell Hughes and Bill Hughes both of Burnsville and Bobby Hughes of Hickory , NC ; and her special pets: Smoot, Tug and Brock. She was preceded in death her sister, Ruthie Kegley and brothers, James and CD Hughes.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 26, 2016 in the Church of God of Prophecy with Robert Norris officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnett Cemetery of Byrd Creek Road in Green Mountain , NC . The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.
