Daisy Jean Cregger Birchfield, affectionately known as (Mammo), age 82, was called to heaven on Saturday, July 30, 2016 . She was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Cregger and Bessie Corina Dillman Cregger. She was born in peaceful Rich Valley in Smyth County , VA on September 10, 1933 . She was the youngest of 10 children. Throughout the years, she loved needlepoint, reading and making quilts.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Shirley Shifflett Borgeson of Edgewater, MD, Danna Twyman Gibson of Spruce Pine, NC and Judy Birchfield Garland of Bakersville, NC; six grandchildren: Andy Gibson, Amber Higgins, Shawn Gray, Jason Gray, Tiffany Garland and Adam Garland; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by one son, James E. Twyman of York , PA.
