Coy Dean Brinkley, age 67 of Bakersville, NC passed away September 19, 2015 at his home. A native of Mitchell County, NC he was a son of the late James and Delova Taylor Brinkley. He was a member of Toecane Baptist Church and retired from Henredon Furniture where he worked in the Finishing Dept.

Dean loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed mowing, going out to eat, and his son in law Terry taking him for a ride in the car. He especially loved his cat Furbie, his dog, Jake, and spending time with his granddaughter Michelle.

Survivors include: his wife Linda Beaver Brinkley, of the home, one son; Steven Brinkley, of Green Mountain, NC, one daughter; Sarah Jamerson (Terry), of Bakersville, NC, one sister; Elizabeth McClellan (Charles), of Spruce Pine, NC, three brothers; Wayne Brinkley (Wanda), of Estatoe, NC, Burdette Brinkley, of Yancey County, NC, and Benny Brinkley, of TN, a sister in law; Dorothy Byrd, of Bakersville, NC, a granddaughter; Michelle Brinkley, several nieces and nephews; and special friends; Kenneth Wilson, Dean Gouge, and Ken Sedberry.

The family would like to express a special thanks to his caregiver Caroline Honeycutt.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 8:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Sherrill Whitson, Paul Bennett, and Dale Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 1:00PM at Bailey Cemetery.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
