Charles Fate Woody, 75, of Bakersville, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 in Mission Hospital . He was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Carrie Buchanan Woody. He was an electrician and attended the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jessie Rose Garland Woody; son, Tony Allen Woody of Bakersville; daughters: Tonya Michelle McKinney and husband Russell of Spruce Pine and Tina Maria Pressley and husband Ben of Bakersville; sisters:  Sue Greene and Mattie Styles of Bakersville, Barbara Taylor and Gail Fowler of Johnson City,TN; grandchildren: Chasity Faith Woody, Chase Daniel Woody, Ryan Thomas McKinney, Cari Ella Pressley, Royce Tyler McKinney and Jonathan Scott Pressley; great grandchild, Calie Marie Woody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters: Lucille Burleson, Pearl Peterson, Beryl Bennett, Mary Greene and Shirley McCray; two brothers: Alfred Woody and Zeb Woody.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, April 19, 2015 in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ on Fork Mountain Road in Bakersville. Bishop Alvin Baker and Rev. Russell McKinney will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fork Mountain Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3pm at the church.
