Charles Patrick (Pat) McKinney , age 49, of Hwy 261, Bakersville , NC went home to be with the Lord January 29, 2018 . He was a native of Mitchell County, NC. Patrick was a member of Bakersville Baptist Church and attended Little Rock Creek Baptist Church . He was a graduate of Mitchell High School . He enjoyed traveling during his fathers lifetime. Patrick enjoyed helping his mother, his music, and his friends.

Survivors include: his mother Marie Hobson McKinney , of the home, one brother Ben McKinney (Marcia), of Bakersville , NC , three nephews; Matthew, Mark, and Ryan Peterson, and one niece Ava Marie McKinney.

He was preceded in death by his father Benton McKinney, and his brother Dan Peterson.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM in Henline - Hughes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00PM in Little Rock Creek Baptist Church with Bob McCurry, Danny Silver, and Toby Crowder officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bakersville Memorial Cemetery .
