Charles Dean Corn, age 63 of Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 8, 2024. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of JoAnn Cates Corn of Waynesville and the late George Corn. Dean was a kindhearted man who loved God and his family with all his heart. He was a member of Fork Mountain Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and enjoy nature. Dean loved animals and showed compassion on many of them over the years. He loved his wife and best friend, Melissa spending time with her and his sons, Dalton and Dillon. Dean was a wonderful husband, father and friend to so many and he will be greatly missed.

Dean is survived by his wife, Melissa McKinney of their home; his mother, JoAnn Corn of Waynesville, NC; sons, Dalton Ledford and his wife Deanna Reary of Morganton, NC and Dillon Ledford of Marion, NC; daughter, Jessica McKinney and husband Dan of Burnsville, NC; granddaughter, Lyla McKinney; brothers, Randy Corn and wife Angie and Michael Corn all of Waynesville; and his cousin who was like a brother, James Corn and wife Jenny of Maggie Valley, NC.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Fork Mountain Baptist Church with Pastor John McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
