Charles (Chuck) Albert Ellis, age 76, of Bakersville, NC passed away Monday, October 26, 2015. He was born in Mitchell County, NC and was a graduate of the Bowman High School Class of 1957 before serving in the United States Army for three years. After retiring from Tennessee Farm Bureau Insurance Company as the general agent in Scott County, TN he returned to Bakersville. For several years he faithfully attended Bear Creek Baptist Church and was treasurer of the Snow Hill Cemetery Committee.

Charles loved and enjoyed overseeing Snow Hill Cemetery, he also enjoyed taking care of his property with pride, mowing and weed eating. He was actively involved in his community and was a member of Kiwanis.

Survivors include: his loving wife of fifty two years, Lana Turner Ellis, of the home, two sons; Tony Ellis (Angela), of Kingsport, TN, and Brandon Ellis (Timberlie), of Knoxville, TN, grandchildren; Nathan, Julie, Melody, and Jenna Ellis, of Kingsport, TN, brothers: Kenneth Ellis (Geraldine), of Bakersville, NC, Richard Ellis (Pat), of Lacey, Washington, and Eddie Ellis (Celia), of Denver, NC, sisters; Margaret Bowman (Wade), of Marion, NC, Linda Campbell (Paul), of Candler, NC, aunts; Betty Broadway and Zola West, of Spruce Pine, NC, and several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Irene Hall Ellis.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 30, 2015 at 3:00PM in Bear Creek Baptist Church with Reverends William Ellis and Chris Rathbone officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery with full military honors conducted by Sgt E. L. Randolph Chapter 57 DAV.
