Cassie S. Honeycutt, age 91, of Green Mountain, NC went home to be with Jesus on August 19, 2016 at Brian Center Health and Rehab. A native of Mitchell County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Harrison and Hannah Gardner Street . She was a life long member of the Upper Pigeon Roost Freewill Baptist Church .

Survivors include her daughters: Jackie Bennett and husband Dewey of Green Mtn and Joan Whitson of Burnsville, NC; son, Douglas Honeycutt of Marion, NC; grandsons: Dallas Shane Bennett, Chad Bennett (Melora), Joshua Whitson and D.J. Honeycutt;  granddaughter, Devon Leigh Honeycutt; three great grandsons: Zachery Bennett, Gage Whitson and Jaden Whitson; also a very special niece and caregiver for several years, Debbie Bartlett, who her Aunt Cassie loved more than words could ever say. We thank you Debbie and Timmy for everything you did for her; and a very special nephew, Teddy Street whom she loved like a son; also a brother in law, Grover Honeycutt and a sister in law, Helen Honeycutt whom were both very loved by her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Honeycutt who passed away on July 6, 2016; one son, Dallas Honeycutt and one great grandson, Chase Bennett; her sister, Myrtle S. Johnson; brothers: Brown and Taylor Street and a nephew, Timothy Street.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with David Garland and Marvin Miller officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge , 236 Hospital Drive , Spruce Pine , NC 28777 .
