Carolyn D. Staton, age 76, of Cane Creek Rd, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord, February 3, 2019. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC, and a daughter of the late John and Ella Pitman Duncan. She was retired as a Sales Clerk with Spruce Pine Pharmacy, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her husband: Jack Staton, of the home, one daughter; Cathy Chapman (Mike), of Johnson City, TN, one son; Dale Staton (Janet), of Bakersville, NC, two grandchildren; Kimberly Revis and Sam Staton.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by: one son; Van Staton, sisters; Ann Buchanan and Azalene Hughes, and three brothers; Phillip Duncan, Holden Duncan, and Lee Duncan.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Daniel Whetstine, Vernon Buchanan, and William Ellis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow the service at Bear Creek Mausoleum.
