Carolyn Garland Reese, age 53, of Richmond Rd, Bakersville, NC passed away November 19, 2019 at her home. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and previously employed with Baxter Healthcare. Carolyn despite having a long illness enjoyed life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bird watching, flowers, and petting her furry friend (Molly the cat).

Survivors include: her mother; Georgia Stevens Garland, one son; Michael Hensley (Amanda), of Bakersville, NC, four sisters; Judy Hensley (Chuck) Spruce Pine NC, Janet Smiley (Jae) Mocksville NC, Joyce Riddle (Gary) Bakersville NC, Virginia Burleson (Ronnie) Bakersville NC, four brothers; Gerald Garland (Shirley) of Bakersville NC, Burl Garland (Ellen) Bakersville NC, Jesse Garland (Theresa) Spruce Pine NC, Kenny Garland (Sherry) Bakersville NC.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Oliver Garland and her husband Billy Reese.

Graveside services will be held Thursday November 21st 12:00 noon at the Garland Cemetery (Bad Creek Road) in Bakersville NC. Rev. Shane Gunter will officiate.
