Carolyn Boone Gunter, age 87, of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, passed away on June 12, 2026. Born in Yancey County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Troy and Lilly Mae Suttle Boone. Carolyn dedicated many years of her life to her career at Baxter Healthcare before retiring.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Richard Gunter; her four children, Terry Garden, Marcia Fisher, Tammy Williams, and Darryl Gunter and his wife Darla; her brother, Gary Boone and his wife Wanda; as well as eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Tom Boone and his wife Arta Lee.

In accordance with her wishes, private services will be held at a later date. Henline – Hughes Funeral Service is honored to assist the Gunter family during this time.

Carolyn’s life will be treasured by her family and all who knew her.
