Carol P. Gladden, age 73 of Spruce Pine, NC went home to be with the Lord, September 18, 2018. She was a daughter of the late Walter and Edythe Hensley Phillips. She loved to quilt, and enjoyed coloring and flowers.

Survivors include: two sisters; Peggy McSwain, of Hickory, NC, and Nellie Cole, of Bakersville, NC, sister in law; Angie Phillips, of Rutherfordton, NC, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband; Bill Gladden, three sisters; Ruth Phillips, Billie Tipton, and Shirley Wilson, and three brothers; Jimmy Phillips, Frankie Alonzo Phillips, and Bobby Phillips.
