Carol Jean Bennett Peterson, age 71 of Byrd Creek Rd, Green Mountain, NC passed away March 17, 2016 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine, NC. She was of the Baptist Faith and a lifelong resident of Mitchell County, NC.

Survivors include: two sons; Chris T. Peterson and wife Bridgett, of Erwin , TN , and Terrence Peterson and wife Jenifer, of Burnsville , NC , four grandchildren; Caleb Drew Peterson, Abigail Pearl Peterson, Sully Glen Peterson, and Roanen Creed Peterson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 8:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home, with Marvin Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 1:00PM at Bennett Cemetery on Pigeon Roost Rd.
