C. L. Jack Stone, age 85 of Great Dane Lane, Bakersville, NC passed away August 17, 2014 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC. he was a Native of Springfield Township, Pennsylvania, and a son of the late Arthur and Minnie Atkinson Stone. He was a member of Bakersville United Methodist Church and was retired from Financial Supervision with the Village Palm Springs Florida Water Dept. He was a Veteran of The United States Army and was a Staff Sergeant in Germany .

Jack was a licensed pilot who loved to fly. He was a Past Commander at VFW in both Pennsylvania and North Carolina .

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years who passed away in 2009, Patricia Perschka Stone.

Survivors include; his son, Dennis Stone, of Weaverville, NC, daughter, Jackie Paffrath (Mark), of Bakersville, NC, sister in law, Hazel Gander (Tom), of Stoneboro, Pennsylvania, five grandchildren; Claire Stone, Lauren Kop, Matthew Stone, Preston Paffrath, and Emily Paffrath Hyatte, six great grandchildren; Olivia and Aiden Stone, Ben and Max Kop, and Colton Paffrath, and his namesake, Baby Jack Stone.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 3:00PM in Bakersville United Methodist Church with Tony Norris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
