Brenda Wyatt Young, 57, of the McKinney Cove Community, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Betty Stamey Wyatt. Brenda was a member of the McKinney Cove Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Buddy and Warren Wyatt.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Young of their home; sons: Edward Young of Bakersville and David Young of Manteo , NC ; sisters: Christine Franklin, Carolyn Wyatt, Linda Greene, Ann Rose and Georgia Stamey all of Spruce Pine; three grandchildren: Daniel, Serena and Ariel.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Monday, May 22, 2017 , in the McKinney Cove Baptist Church with Revs. Todd Ayers and Delaney Young officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
