Bobby Gene Edwards, age 88, of Byrd Creek Rd, Green Mountain, NC went home to be with the Lord, July 18, 2021. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Holden and Elva Barnett Edwards. He was retired from Gouge Trucking Company in Maintenance. He was a Veteran of The United States Army and served in Korea.

Bobby was a member and former deacon of Pigeon Roost Brethren Church. His wife "Ruthie" was the love of his life. He was an outdoorsman and loved his flowers, and enjoyed landscaping with rock. He also loved his dog "Babe".

Survivors include: his loving wife; Ruth Barnett Edwards, two brothers; Jimmy Dale Barnett (Kay), of Church Hill, TN, Randal Barnett (Debra), of Bakersville, NC, sister in law; Tonya Barnett, of Jonesboro, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his brothers Herman and Donald Barnett.

Graveside  services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 3:00PM Byrd Cemetery on Byrd Creek Rd., with Reverend Jerry Barnett officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter 57 DAV.
