Bill G. Norman, age 90, of the Ledger Community, Bakersville, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton , NC . He was the son of the late William G. and Caria Pitman Norman and the husband of the late Mary Lee Norman.

He was the owner operator of Norman Furniture Company in Spruce Pine, NC for many years and was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church .

Surviving are his daughters: Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Wilson and husband David of Denver, NC, Billie June Hollifield and husband Coy of Bakersville and Brenda Rose and husband Mark of Newport News, VA; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Wilson Norman, sister, Kate Stewart and five brothers: Clarence, Charlie, Claude, Jessie and Brown Norman.

The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Abernethy Laurels and Catawba Regional Hospice for the special care they provided for their father.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Bear Creek Baptist Church with Chris Rathbone and Cass Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Tommy Norman, Dr. Ben Wilson, Matt Laws, Kelly Johnson, Bo Buckner, Keyven Buchanan, William Rose, Steve Rose, Daniel Rose, and David Michael Norman. Honorary Pallbearers are Keaton Buchanan, Daylen Buchanan, and Evan Wilson.
