Bill Eugene Butler
Bill Eugene Butler, age 76, of Milligan Highway, Johnson City, TN, passed away March 27, 2011. He was born in Mitchell County, NC, to the late Lewis and Gertrude Moffitt Butler. He served in the United States Marines and had previously worked as a Captain at the Johnson City Police Department. He was a Member of the Milligan Freewill Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #30.
Survivors include: his wife, Louise Moffitt Butler of the home, son, Mike Butler and Tammy of Johnson City, TN, daughter, Sharon Jewett and husband Mark of Cary, NC, grandchildren, Brett Butler, Shane Butler, Shannon Jewett, Brittany Jewett, and Stephanie Jewett.
He was preceded in death by: sister, Dovie Kurtz, brothers, James Paul Butler and Mardia Lee Butler.
Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 8:00PM in the Milligan Freewill Baptist Church in Johnson City, TN. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Mark Street and Jerry Stout will be officiating the service. Interment will be Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 11:00AM in the Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, TN. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Marines.
