Betty Lou Grindstaff McKinney, age 84 of River Trail Apartments, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord March 9, 2022. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Joe and Geneva Grindstaff. She was a member of McKinney Cove Baptist Church and especially enjoyed taking care of her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren; Brian Buchanan, Chris Buchanan, and Felicia Yelton. and her great grandchildren; Austin Buchanan, Autumn Jones, and MJ Williams and two brothers; Roger and David Grindstaff.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by: her husband Ed McKinney, three children; Joey Yelton, Johnny Yelton, and Fran Buchanan, one brother Jim Grindstaff, and three sisters; Ima Jean Childers, Jessie Stamey, and Juanita Buchanan.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Todd Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Green Young Cemetery.
