Ben Buchanan, age 86, of Wing Road , Bakersville, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 in the Mitchell House. He was the son of the late William and Annie Ledford Buchanan and a member of the Double Island Baptist Church . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie, and brothers: Leon , Leonard, Tarp and Lane Buchanan.

Ben is survived by his wife, Virginia Robinson Buchanan; sister, Grace Buchanan of Candler, NC; devoted sister in law, Estelle Briggs of Bakersville.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Sunday, June 26, 2016 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Woody officiating. Burial will follow in the Kona Cemetery . The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
